Overview

Yukon Zinc Corporation is advancing the exceptionally silver-rich Wolverine zinc-copper-lead-silver-gold deposit. Underground development and sampling, infill drilling and additional metallurgical studies have been completed. The Feasibility Study was completed in May 2006 by Hatch Associates Ltd. and the Optimized Feasibility Study has been completed by Wardrop Engineering Inc. in January 2007.  The revised study shows a significant improvement in metal recoveries and project economics. Yukon Zinc is continuing Wolverine's project construction in 2007 and anticipates production in 2009.

Wolverine is the key to development of the Finlayson District as Canada's next major mining district. The Finlayson District is similar to the districts of Noranda, Bathurst and Flin Flon which all have long histories of discovery of volcanogenic base-precious massive sulphide deposits and have been the building base of several of Canada's major mining companies.

Location

The Wolverine deposit is located in South East Yukon, Canada, 237 km North West of the transportation hub Watson Lake and 441 km North East of the capital city Whitehorse. The Wolverine property encompasses 107 square kilometres and is approximately 26 kilometres west of the Robert Campbell Highway.

Access to the Wolverine deposit is accessible by the new mine site access road which was completed September 2007. The site also supports aircrafts on the 800 metre long winterized gravel airstrip.
